The SC.BOX came about from wanting a board I can really lean on and push hard off the tail. It’s made for those open faced, carve-focused waves, but it also works great on most average days.

The main idea is to draw out longer smoother lines with power.

The extra foam creats momentum and using the bottom curves to keep drive and flow. I went with a lower rocker, a forward wide point, and a double concave to help the board carry speed and stay connected through turns.

A lot of the inspiration came from Greg’s 80s shapes — flat deck, beak nose and Box logo.

I like the flat deck look, but more importantly, how functional it is. A flatter deck helps spread volume where you need it while keeping the stringer thinner, which cuts weight and keeps the board feeling lively with good flex and spring.

The rails are kept a bit fuller to stop water from flooding the deck, especially in softer, weaker waves.

Finished off with the old Shaping Co. box logo as a nod to where the inspiration comes from.
